TEST 3
1. Unplug the meter from the outlet.
2. Detach the inside unit from the outside
unit by disconnecting the black, white, and green wires from
the cable that connects
the two units. In some cases, the connections may be inside the meter.
You may be able
to get to them by simply removing the black grommet where the cable enters
the
meter, and pulling
the cable out of the inside unit. DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE TO DO
THIS. If you
are still unable to reach the connections, remove the ten black allen wrench
screws
on the cover and
disconnect the cable within the unit.
3. Leave all the wires disconnected.
Make sure the wires are not in contact with each other. The
cable going
to the outside unit should also be left disconnected.
4. Plug the meter back into the outlet.
5. For the best results, the test
should be run for at least 24 hours. The longer the test is run the
more
accurate the
results will be. If your meter begins to add any counts to the 'heat
only' counter,
check the
connections and try again.
